Boh Runga Jewellery

My bestest buddy, Anjana (said: Aun-jar-nah) from high school is leaving New Zealand and setting off to live on the Gold Coast in Australia. She leaves on Wednesday, so before she goes Anj has organised a lunch with all her girlfriends tomorrow (Monday). I'm going to miss her soooo much. I decided I wanted to get her a leaving gift that would remind her of home (so she doesn't start to think she's an Aussie!!). I thought about getting a frame and filling it with snaps from our holiday we went on in January to Raro, but decided against it. Then I thought some NZ art would be cool, but everything I liked was too expensive and she may not even like it. So, it came to me... some jewellery. I checked out the Boh Runga collection online, and decided on the 'Duo Miromiro Feather Pendant'. I went and bought it on Friday night.

Isn't it beautiful? I love it! (If Anjana doesn't like it when I give to her tomorrow I will gladly accept it back). It came in the cutest little box too. There's heaps of cool pieces designed by Boh Runga for NZ mint. I'm going to track down my own Duo Miromiro Feather Pendant when I get paid next week :)

Cute!

I made these lovely little mini muffins when I was off work sick, Wednesday last week. I felt ick on Tuesday with a cold / flu (I don't know what the difference is) thing going on. When I woke up on Wednesday I felt fine, but I had typed my lessons out and relief had been arranged, so... I stayed home and made these :)

I needed the rest though, the rest of last week and the one that has just ended, have been a little crazy - three classes worth of creative writing to mark, having a slack student put back a year level (then dealing with him blaming me because of course its my fault and he had no part in the matter) and a fight occuring (crazy girl punching annoying boy) in my class... swap jobs anyone?? Oh well, its all sorted with now, so I can have a relaxing weekend and look forward to what next week may bring :P

Hmmm... maybe I should do some more delicious baking :)

Ladyhawke Special Edition

Yay-er! Got this today. I got sucked in because of the acoustic tracks on it :)

I also purchased the 'Great Kiwi Songbook' CD to play during my classes this month (along with Lady Hawke) for New Zealand Music month. I'm going to pull out all my NZ music CD's tomorrow to take into school.
