Looking forward to the weekend!

I’m excited for Saturday.  I plan on going to the Auckland food show, eating lots, and attending one of the demonstrations by Donna Hay.  Also, next door to the food show a massive book sale is going to be happening.  Exciting!  I love books and food and a lot of both in one day = bliss.

Here is a pic of just some of the books at the sale…

Just a few pictures…

If you know how to put pictures onto a blog so that they are a series of little squares, like the ones above on the right, can you please post a comment and share the secret about how to do it with me??  I’ve been searching on the net for some instructions but I haven’t had any luck.

I made some ‘Banana Lemon’ muffins today because we had a couple of bananas that were starting to turn brown.  I went to the library last weekend and got out a book called ‘The Muffin Bible’ and I want to make about 90% of the muffins in it.  So, I think I am going to have to hunt down and buy myself a copy of the book, as there are too many recipes for me to copy.

Plan for the day...

My boyfriend is in Christchurch for the day attending come mini car club agm... BORING!

I plan on going into town to take a squiz at the Pacifica heARTbeat craft market and performances that are on at Aotea Centre. Hopefully it will be cool, I went to Rarotonga in January and loved it, so maybe I can pick up something today that reminds me of my holiday. Then I think I am going to head to the library and get some books, and I will pop into
Kikki.K because I LOVE stationery.

Perhaps I will go to see one of the movies that are out as part of the film festival at the moment, when Scott gets back from Christchurch tonight.

What is everyone else doing with their weekends?

Procrastination

I am pretty good at procrastinating, so I quite like the following little clip.

My school holidays are up in three days. I have three classes worth (about 80) of year 12 essays to mark and I have had the past two weeks to do so. I also do not see me starting to mark them any time soon (hence this blog post really). I marked three classes of junior work during the first week of the holidays, of which there wasn't as much, so I feel justified in my approach to the year 12 stuff.

Kids of 88

Love the song. Don't think I would love to be one of the dancing girls in the video, even though the song makes me want to dance and sing along every time I hear it.

Got me a ticket to see Green Day, and I'm going to see if anyone wants to go to The Black Eyed Peas with me as pre-sale tickets are available on Friday.

Anyways, gotta go - making chocolate fudge brownies and I don't want to burn them.

Got my own cute silver feather necklace...

I have gone and got myself my own 'Duo Miromiro Feather Pendant' designed by Boh Runga (see on of my previous posts if you don't know what I'm on about).
I found a seller letting them go at a good price on Trade Me, and they have their own online shop - so if you want to look FAB-O like me, then head on over to www.needagift.co.nz. On the site you can find the pendant for NZ$119 rather than the NZ$160 that they are priced at in the shops. Savings!

My go at using 'The Secret'

So, I'm on school holidays at the moment and the other day I was sitting at home watching Oprah - as you do, especially since I was in a car accident the other week, my fault, and I don't know how much my car is going to cost to fix (I only had 3rd party insurance as my car is cheap) so I didn't want to be out shopping and spending money. Ok, I've lost track, watching Oprah - and she was talking about that 'The Secret' book. I haven't read it, but from the show I gathered that it is all about the 'Law of Attraction'. There were women on the show who wrote lists about what they want in their 'perfect man' and OMG now they are married to them (just a hint of sarcasm there). There was also a lady who had a picture of a stove on her 'inspiration board' and when it came to replacing her old stove the one she purchased kept breaking. So, she swapped the brand of stove and OMG - it ended up being the one on her inspiration board without her realising it until she took a good look at the picture she had pinned up. She claimed the universe had sent her the stove.

So... I'm going to use this blog as my inspiration board. I haven't made a list of things I desire yet, or a list of my perfect man, but as I am a bit pathetic and still live at home, one thing that I shall have on my list is to own my own house. And I want a cute little villa. So here are some pictures for the Universe...

Right, the first two pictures are me pushing my luck with what the universe will bring my way. Hopefully the last one is realistic and the universe will be kind :)

Next up - writing a list so the universe will send me the perfect husband. Hmmm... maybe I should have done that list first - top of the list could have been "Man who owns a cute villa".

Next topic... my crochet blanket is going well. Slowly, but well. If I can be bothered I will take some photos. I like having a look at Carina's craft blog - her pretty photos keep me inspired to continue with my own blanket. Also, what's cool is that this months 'Your Home and Garden' magazine (which arrived in the mail today) features two different homes that, in their pictures, have crochet granny blankets!! So, I was cool before they became cool. Nah-nah nah-nah nah nah! (One of the homes was also a first home buyer who had a cute villa *sigh*)
